Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are many types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities). People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons; for example, to reduce stress and anxiety, to relax muscles, to rehabilitate injuries, to reduce pain, and to promote overall health and wellness. Massage therapy has been growing in popularity among chiropractors. Many chiropractors have their “in-house” massage therapist to work alongside. The benefits of working together on musculoskeletal issues not only quicken the treatment time but also has longer-lasting effects. While chiropractors focus more on musculoskeletal issues, massage therapists can assist with soft tissue and muscle issues. Corrective Exercises & Rehabilitation

Corrective exercises are the use of bodily movements and/or postures to restore desirable changes in diseased or injured tissues. The corrective exercises are movement strategies that minimize or eliminate compensation. Corrective exercises should precede more integrated exercises, because they can cue the patient’s motor system to respond in a more desirable way and assist in removing or improving biomechanical constraints. Use of specific exercises are used to correct deficiencies caused by trauma, inactivity, muscular imbalances, poor flexibility or biomechanical inadequacies. This comprehensive and consistent approach works to retrain muscles, restore joint function and prevent recurring injuries as well as doctor visits. When corrective exercises become necessary, they help maintain proper posture, improve lifting mechanics while helping to determine the “Do’s and Don’ts” related to certain jobs or daily activities. The effectiveness of the treatment protocol depends on the patient’s commitment to their therapeutic exercises and doctor’s recommendations. Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression involves stretching the spine while using a traction table. The goal is to relieve back pain and/or leg pain. Our chiropractor also works to promote an optimal healing environment for bulging, degenerated, or herniated discs. Spinal decompression is a type of therapy applied to the spine that brings patients many benefits. First, we attempt to create a negative intradiscal pressure to promote retraction or repositioning of the herniated or bulging disc material. Secondly, we create a lower pressure in the disc that will cause an influx of healing nutrients as well as other substances into the disc. Our entire staff is dedicated to our patients. We want to get to the bottom of your spinal issues and reduce the likelihood of your pain resurfacing. Our office provides a calming atmosphere, so you are sure to feel comfortable while your body is trying to heal. If you have any questions regarding spinal decompression or would like to schedule an appointment, contact us today at (952) 447-3000.

Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese medicine is based on the philosophy that the universe and the body are opposing forces. The constant flow of energy keeps them balanced. When the flow of energy is blocked, illness will occur. Acupuncture therapy will release blocked energy, resolve the pain, and improve sleep, digestive functions, and sense of well-being. Our qualified and helpful staff will work with you to ensure that there is no more energy blockage and make sure that you are receiving all of the amazing benefits from acupuncture.
